St. John’s is pleased to present Rick and Laura Hall in Concert, 7:30 pm, Saturday, July 31.Join Rick and Laura for a concert of original music and down home storytelling. A fun and inspirational evening, perfect for the whole family. Rick and Laura met in Chicago where they both performed with THE SECOND CITY NATIONAL TOURING COMPANY. Since then they have gotten married, had two children together, and moved to Los Angeles. There they continue to perform, both separately and together. Laura is probably best known as the improvisational pianist on television’s WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY. She was also on the DREW CAREY SHOW live episodes, and has toured the country doing live performances with DREW CAREY AND THE IMPROV ALLSTARS. Laura has combined her music and faith in two cds of original Contemporary Christian music, A WOMAN OF FAITH and ALL IN GOD’S GOOD TIME. Her music has also been featured on several compilation cds; A CHURCH WITH A VISION, DREAM ON SISTERS, and FAITH ROCKS. Laura has toured the country performing at churches, concerts, and regional events, both alone and with her husband. She feels blessed to have been a featured performer at the Disciples of Christ General Assembly in 2007 and 2009, and the Mix in ’06 Women’s Quadrennial. Laura also has two albums of original children’s music, I SEE A TIGER and COME JOIN THE PARADE. She wrote the music for the TELL ME A STORY series of cds, collections of timeless folktales from around the world. And she wrote the music for THE WHEELS ON THE BUS series of children’s videos, starring Roger Daltrey. Laura has written music for several independent films, including the score for SLICE OF PIE, a romantic comedy written by and starring her husband. White Professor of Wildlife Ecology at the University of Arkansas-Monticello. For 150 years the theory of evolution has rippled the fabric of American society. In 4 sessions, Dr. White will discuss the fundamental importance of a biblical creationist worldview and its scientific validity. As a tenured Professor at a State University, Dr. White interacts daily with students and colleagues who oppose the Bible and Christian values. Thank you to all who have been praying for Dennis. He had a heart attack last Thursday, but he is now breathing on his own and he may be moved out of ICU to a regular room today! Keep praying for a complete recovery. God is AWESOME!

Please pray for wisdom for where to relocate to, for the best safety and hope for my family. Pray for a job that honors God and allows me the time to raise my children. Also, pray for God's grace to have the power to do what I need to do. We're Christians, but it's hard to stay focused. We are in need of Christ's power and love.

Please, please pray for my best friend, LaRonda. She was in a devastating car accident and is in ICU. It has been one week since the accident and we need some prayer warriors! She has too many injuries to list but the priority right now is her lungs. They are too weak for any surgeries on other injuries... Please keep her and her family in your prayers! Thank You!

I have a request for my sister and her husband. He has suffered substance abuse in the past and has fallen back into it the last few months. He has a great job and loves his family, but took a step in the wrong direction. He is a believer and is seeking help. He has a wonderful job and is again being promoted. Just wanted everyone to know that prayer works. I asked for prayer concerning a test I was going to have on Monday (echocardiogram). I asked for positive results and indeed God answered my prayers. Results were positive! Praise the Lord! What a faithful God we serve.

Please pray for my husband and son's relationship. Our son is 15 and is active in church but inactive at home. So him and my husband squabble frequently. It is taking a toll on me because my husband gets a bit out of line with his words and my instinct is to defend our son,which in turn only causes fights in our marriage. We are all 3 born again believers who have family struggles just like everyone else. Thank you for taking time to read this and praying for my family.

I just recently got out of rehab for an addiction to sex, drugs, and alcohol. I'm 17. The first couple of weeks home were really hard and I struggled...a lot. But now I've got my head on strait (somewhat) and God has called me to be a missionary to Canada. But I am so scared. What if I mess up again...What if my past keeps me from pursuing my future? Pray that I find some kind of answer.

I don't know what to do. I know having premarital relations is a sin but it's so hard not to. I'm afraid I will go to hell for it because I don't feel sorry, I mean I do but I don't. I'm so confused and conflicted. I know this isn't tragic like a lot of the prayers posted but I'm having trouble with it so I am asking for help. Please pray for me so that I can make the right decisions, as well as everyone else who is going through this.

Please pray for my girlfriend and her family. Her parents just got divorced and she is living with her mom and brother. Her mom is unemployed. The only income source for their family is my girlfriend and her brother and they are 18 and 17 respectively. Her mom has depression but can't be on medicine because she is trying to get health insurance and it is viewed as a pre-existing condition. My girlfriend has depression and anxiety disorders as well and her mom puts her depression down saying that it's not real. Her brother has anger problems and so does her dad. Her family is falling apart at the seams. I love her dearly and I'm afraid for her life, please pray for her and her family.

My dad, Arthur, age 81 had a stroke on 7/26.10. His wife discovered his mouth twisted as he awoke that morning. Don't know how long he had been in the condition, and with strokes, time is of the essence to administer crucial reversal medications. BUT we know God knows all and is the Great Physician! Prior to the stroke Arthur has enjoyed good health and was very active - not your typical 80-year old man. God, I thank you in advance for your healing virtue on behalf of my dad. Intercessors, now do your thing and pray, Pray, PRAY!

Rose Bradbury is my aunt, she was told in Dec. 2009 that she had non-small cell lung cancer. She has never smoked a day in her life. She needs all the prayers that she can get! One good thing is she knows the Lord as her Saviour. My Aunt loves to sing Christian songs at our church. She still sings but it is very hard for her I know she will keep serving the Lord till the day she dies. Thank you for your prayers!

My husband is currently deployed, which is stressor number one. My son has autism, GI issues and epilepsy. His seizures are getting worse and there is no explanation. My daughter is 5 and is struggling to understand everything that is going on. I am a full time student on top of everything else. Being a military wife is hard enough without all the added issues our family has. I am praying for answers, for guidance, for hope. Aside from my family, I must ask for prayer for our soldiers. God be with them and bring them home!

My Dad lost his job about 2 months ago and has been in the process of finding a new one, but with the economy the way it is everyone knows that is a very difficult task to do. He has had several interviews but there has always been that one person that is more qualified. They are now having to sell their house because the finances are not there any more. It is an extremely difficult time and my parents both have been very strong and patient, and we know that it is all in God's timing, and we are in constant prayer. Thank You all!

I went to surgery on Wednesday, July 14th and the update is no problems or complications of any kind and no pain in recovery mode now. Thank you for all your prayers and support. PRAISE GOD FOR HE IS GOOD ALL THE TIME AND WORTHY TO BE PRAISED!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
